My gopher enjoys the benzodiazepine high. He had xanax but his psychiatrist replaced it with clonazepam because they last longer. In my gophers experience, clonazepam is stronger than alprozalam so he is very pleased with the switch but had built a very high tolerance to clonazepam. i see alot of different answers online im kind of confused also its 0.5mg if that matters So to sum up; swallow whole as prescribed if taking as part of a maintenence regemin or before an event where you know you're going to need the help. But if in the midst of a panic attack, it can safely be taken sublingually for faster onset. I've been on Xanax PRN for quite a few years now, but have backed my dose way down to usually 1 mg. at bedtime unless I'm having a humdinger of a day.
